What happens in the first session?

The initial meeting is our opportunity to decide if we can work together.

The relationship between you and me is vitally important and we need to feel comfortable together. In this session I will collect some information about what brings you to counselling and explain what kind of therapy I offer. It is also gives you a chance to ask any questions that you may have.

How much will it cost?

The initial meeting is free of charge and lasts approximately 30 minutes. After this the cost is £55/£65 per 50-minute session depending on the time of day. There are reduced rates available for a limited number of students. This can be discussed at our initial meeting.
How often do I need to attend counselling and how long will it last?

It is beneficial to attend counselling weekly and I would initially suggest a block of 8 sessions in order to give us time to make progress. However, every client and their situation is unique so this is just a guide. We can decide together how we would like the sessions to develop and the time needed. As our sessions continue we will regularly review and discuss how you are feeling about your counselling.
Why counselling?

Counselling gives you time to reflect upon your needs in a world that is often too hectic to allow that time.
Counselling gives you the opportunity to talk openly and without judgement to someone who is really listening and is professionally qualified to help.
Counselling gives you a place to explore your own emotions and experiences without having to be mindful of other people's feelings.
